The Best Podcasts for Learning Spanish

Podcasts are the easiest Spanish input to fit into a day. You can't watch a video while you're driving, doing the dishes, or walking the dog - but you can listen.

All the podcasts in this list are entirely in Spanish but aimed at learners. As of September 2026, they're all actively publishing new episodes. Some have archives of hundreds of episodes, so you'll literally never run out of content.

Most of these creators also make videos. If you prefer to watch, see my list of comprehensible input YouTube channels.

Andrea's weekly podcast, where she shares personal stories and thoughts in slow, warm Mexican Spanish. She has another podcast called Tell Me Your Story where she retells stories shared by her community.

The audio side of Juan's YouTube channel (which I highly recommend): the same anecdotes, reflections, and deliberate repetition, just without the video.

Andrea, who's Colombian, and Nate, an American who learned Spanish as an adult, talking through culture and everyday life. Their chemistry works well and gives this podcast a more interesting dynamic than most other shows.

Conversations about Mexican life, customs, and the things "every Mexican knows but nobody teaches you." Over 400 episodes in, Ana and David are good at identifying and explaining where most Spanish learners struggle.

Two friends from Mexico talking the way Mexicans actually talk to each other, stopping to explain the expressions. Probably the closest thing on this list to real native Spanish.

Chelear is Mexican slang for having a few beers - and that's exactly the vibe: Diego and Efra are two friends kicking back and talking about Mexican traditions, culture, and slang. They've been teaching Spanish for years (both are also voices on SpanishPod101), so even at a relaxed, natural pace, they're easy to follow.

Speakers from several countries talking about culture and slang. This one has nearly 2,000 episodes and publishes something new almost every day. A good one to turn into a daily habit.

A classroom teacher telling stories in very slow and deliberate Spanish. Great for beginners.

Some Questions

Are podcasts a good way to learn Spanish?

Podcasts are excellent for listening comprehension, and their big advantage is that they fit into time you'd otherwise waste - commuting, cooking, exercising. That adds up to a lot of hours. Podcasts are also denser than television or movies: there are no pauses or action scenes. It's constant talking.

On their own they won't teach you to speak, and without visuals they're harder than video at the very beginning. They work best alongside other study: some grammar, some speaking practice, and video for the stage when you still need something to look at.

What's the best Spanish podcast for absolute beginners?

If you're a true noobie, it will be hard to get much value from most of the podcasts on this page. You need a decent amount of vocabulary and listening comprehension to listen to Spanish-only shows, even if they are slowed down and simplified.

If you really want to learn from audio and are starting from zero, I'd recommend looking at resources that explain things in English. Check out Language Transfer or Coffee Break Spanish. Once you have the basics, the Dreaming Spanish Podcast or Andrea la Mexicana are probably the easiest all-Spanish options on this list.

[Shameless plug incoming] Of course, what I'd really recommend to beginners is a good workbook that explains how Spanish actually works while incorporating lots of audio, music, and video clips. Something like The Animated Book of Spanish. 😉
